As you may be aware Ricoh is one of our top suppliers here at STORM. They have recently released their latest range in the IM C Series. The new range is the IM C 10’s.
The new IM C Series has been innovatively designed based on four essential requirements for any smart organisation investing in new technology. Adaptability, Sustainability, Productivity and Security.
The new range is now the most environmentally sustainable laser MFP on the market. The range is built and delivered with the lowest CO2 and materials use.
Some fun facts about the new range:
- 50% of mainframe body made of post-consumer recycled plastic
- 17% less carbon footprint across the lifetime of the product
- Energy Save mode is 50% lower on energy consumption
- New high efficiency toner to reduce environmental impact.
- Lower energy bills – fuses at 14 degrees lower
- Toner packaging – Total amount of reduction in single-use plastic is approx. 79t/year
- Old takeaway boxes are being recycled into plastic pellets to be used in paper feed trays
- Hard lock toner is an option that improves profitability by minimizing the shipment of toner and won’t release the current toner bottle until it is actually empty
The new Eco-mode feature:
- It reduces power consumption and running costs
- A super-fast recovery time of less than 1 second means that there is no impact on end-user productivity when your machine wakes up
- It is the most energy efficient timer setting
- With EcoMode, a device will quickly go into sleep mode after each print job

Despite all the environmentally sustainable measures and new features installed on the latest range, it has twice as fast Central Processing Unit and higher scan speeds (model dependant) and Solid State Drive Storage as standard for increased speed and reliability – 256G (Optional 1TB) – 30% faster than HDD.
With regards to security, the flagship machine has undergone a penetration test by Cisco. To date, Cisco has incorporated the know-how of numerous security companies and has security experts in each field of IT but have been unable to penetrate the security features of the latest range. There are key security features built into the device such as ‘Ricoh Always Current technology’ for ongoing access to security features and upgrades and ‘Multi-Factor Authentication’ with an ID/Password and ID card combination.
