Sharp’s Serverless Print is well- printing that doesn’t require a main server. It is ‘simple out of the box’ with Pull Print functionality for up to 10 supported devices within a group (Up to 100 devices in 10 groups).
Each group can consist of up to 3 primary devices and up to 7 secondary devices per group. This allows more flexibility and redundancy if one primary is switched off or disconnected from network.
Furthermore it allows users to print to a single print queue, then retrieve on any connected Sharp MFPs (No Print Server). Print Release can be configured with User Control / Authentication for additional security and convenience with a secure print queue.
With Sharp Authentication enabled it offers SSO (Single Sign on) with Scan to Cloud / Exchange / Gmail connectors.
Although Print release isn’t included in the basic package it is an ideal ‘entry level’ option where a full Print Management solution such as Job accounting & Papercut are available.
Sharp’s print release is simple and efficient to use. Just 3 easy steps
- User authenticates at the device (using Pin / User Password & or Proximity Card)
- Once logged in Hit the “print release” button.
- User Jobs appear.
Finally, a couple of bonus points for Sharp’s Serverless Print as the user can change the number of prints, colour settings and are able to delete jobs if required. Users can also release jobs within a group of 10 by default – or allows the user to select another group. Jobs can be set up to automatically release and will purge between 1-30 days (based on configuration).
